Marketing maestro by profession, freestyle merman by devotion. A doting dad by day, glamper by night, and a sustainable chocolate connoisseur always.
For 20 years, my career has focused on marketing and communications in arts, education, and community-driven nonprofits. In 2019, I sought to expand my own capacity and began to pursue my MBA in Strategic Marketing as a complement to my BFA. Since then, I have continued to focus on work in the nonprofit sector, honing an expertise in this field that is matched by few. I am committed to deepening my impact within nonprofit and educational organizations that align with my passion for driving meaningful change.
On the personal side, I’ve lived in San Francisco for over 30 years with my wife Angie, our 12-year-old son Phoenix (he came along a little later), and our adorable super-mut Bowie Stardust. I will brag endlessly about my son when given the chance—by the way, he’s one of only 240 kids 12 and under who have ever swum Alcatraz.
Recent organizations I’ve worked for include Letterform Archive, the world's only museum and education center focused on letterforms, and ODC/Dance, the most active center for contemporary dance on the West Coast. During the height of the pandemic, I served as Marketing and Communications Lead for SFHDC, a San Francisco-based affordable housing nonprofit, where I dramatically expanded public awareness of the organization. Prior to this, I served as the Associate VP of Marketing and Communications at John F. Kennedy University, where I redefined the strategic marketing plan to bring transformative support to a growingly diverse student body and reestablish its community roots.
Combining creativity and data-driven insights, I specialize in crafting innovative strategies that amplify impact and inspire action. I thrive on leading teams, building partnerships, and executing bold ideas that elevate causes. I’m ready to bring this passion and expertise to organizations seeking visionary marketing leadership.
Please explore this site where I’ve highlighted some of my most stand-out successes. I love stories of all kinds and the strategy of design, so most of what's here will connect to this in some way. I am driven to "master" multiple disciplines as I look for the most appropriate medium for the telling of each. I am an artist, filmmaker, and photographer. But I’m also a marketing executive, writer, entrepreneur, tech nerd, educator, soccer coach, and of course parent, spouse, and son. All of these and more drive me. So as time goes on and I continue to work on this site, you can expect to see a broader range of content and topics, depending on my current focus. I work to gain as much mastery of each of these as I am capable of achieving. My “lack” of focus is my greatest strength. It has given me the skill to make productive connections between disconnected disciplines, bringing success in each of these areas.
